Odesk Research Job

Posted by joseph baladad on Monday, May 28, 2012, In : personal
I was hired today and started doing research project at Odesk and the research is about certain infos of selected hotels in tripadvisor. It's a good thing that I have inclination in researching. I have accepted the project for a one-peso per one hotel so that I could have a feedback already in my Odesk account. I have also updated my account by uploading documents so that my account will be verified. While waiting for the verification process which will take 7 to 10 days, I will just have to ...

Updates

Posted by joseph baladad on Friday, May 25, 2012,
These are just a few updates that I did today and yesterday and the day before yesterday.

I already sent my resignation letter last Wednesday via email. Resignation was supposed to be a draft but when I read a forwarded email, it really triggered me to resign at the soonest possible time.

I updated the background picture of my twitter account. I also uploaded, finally, a photo of myself for my profile picture. It was a photo of me taken during the Ku Ikaika marathon in San Fernando, La Union o...

A Week After

Posted by joseph baladad on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, In : personal

These were the events that happened after a week of hiatus from my blog.

Birthday celebration of Love

I woke up early to pick up the flowers I have bought through ebay_dot_ph and was a few minutes early on site. I changed my mind and have the flowers wrapped in abaca fiber and wax paper wrapper with red ribbon, water tubes for the roses, and gift card for my simple note. Afterwards, we had a lunch date at Handuraw and dessert date at Secret Recipe.

Pre-Marathon day

We travelled to La Union early ...

Short-term:
•    Meralco – cost ranging from 300 pesos to 800 pesos especially if we use the coffeemaker
•    Sun Broadband – fixed cost of 799 pesos
•    Maynilad – cost ranging from 300 pesos to 700 pesos especially if we have not paid for two months already
•    LRT stored-value card – 2 piece...

Last Day Training Prep for Ku Ikaika Run

Posted by joseph baladad on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, In : personal
Four days to go and it will be Ku Ikaika run already in La Union. Today I really pushed myself to run even for a short distance and for a short time so that my body will be ready. I was late in my run because I had to do some reservation. It was really hot when I was running. I really felt the hot temperature even though it was not sunny in the afternoon. I can feel the warm air through my singlet and it really makes me feel tired. I had to do 2 laps only for almost 25 minutes. Afterwards, I ...

Brought Only A Few Things at Work

Posted by joseph baladad on Monday, May 14, 2012,
This is not the first time that I did not bring the company-issued laptop at work. There were several occasions and site visits that I did not bring it because it is heavy and bulky. I cannot move freely and securely because I have to bring it in front, I mean, wear the laptop bag in front and not at my back. I have to think of its security by not losing it and also of my own security by not being too obvious from robbers that I have a laptop. I cannot move very fast without thinking that if ...

Writing Memos and Drafts, Part 2

Posted by joseph baladad on Sunday, May 13, 2012, In : personal
This is just a continuation of what I have written last night. I was able to finish another team memo regarding cleanliness. I have included the 5S concept—Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain. Now, I am trying to finish another personal memo regarding my observations for the whole team as well as advice them regarding some issues.

Tomorrow, I just heard that our boss will visit two of my sites which have recently had a troubling issue. Two of my operators have already received in...

Writing Memos and Drafts

Posted by joseph baladad on Saturday, May 12, 2012, In : personal
To be fully understood by my subordinates, I am now writing a draft informing them certain sentiments or supplications as their team leader. I am also finished with some memos or written warnings for some of my operators which I think they really needed to receive because if not, they might just take for granted the rules and policies of the company. Although, I also have some uncommon practices, I never neglected my duty as a team leader. I have always been quality-conscious and even strict ...

How to Remove Warts

Posted by joseph baladad on Friday, May 11, 2012, In : Instructionals
The wart that I am referring here is "kulugo" in Filipino. I have found many informative sites including forum sites and question-and-answer sites that provide personal views and different answers regarding the removal of warts.

According to what I have read in one site, there are different types of warts. These are:
1.    Verruca vulgaris or common hand warts - found in hands
2.    Verruca plantaris o foot warts - found in feet, might be painful
3.    Verruca plana o flat wart - small, flat, sca...

How to Find the MAC Address in Coby Kyros MID7015 Tablet

Posted by joseph baladad on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, In : Instructionals
I was searching on ways to find the MAC address of a Coby Kyros MID7015 Tablet but most of the links I have found was helpful but incomplete. The instructions are actually very simple. By clicking the Wi-Fi Settings, then choosing ADVANCED and from there you will already see the MAC address. Select the ADVANCED option, hmm.

From there you can see the MAC address already. But wait, where is the ADVANCED option in the Wireless & Networks Settings?!? Fortunately, I was able to go back to the bas...

Ad Posting in Sulit & Internet Navigation

Posted by joseph baladad on Monday, May 7, 2012, In : personal
I have been able to use my Sulit account again in looking for new operators. I have posted 2 ads, one for part-time encoder and the other is for full-time encoder, which is for my 2 sites. There are already 3 applicants who have submitted their resumes and I have already forwarded it to our HR.

This is really the trend in job hunting now. An applicant should not only look for known job search engine sites or internet recruitment sites such as Jobstreet and JobsDB but they should have an optio...

Wonder Why

Posted by joseph baladad on Sunday, May 6, 2012,
I have already fixed the amazing shoe rack remaining parts by using Mighty Bond to glue the pieces together. It has a curing time for long hours because when I tried to touch it, the hardener is still not fully hard. I have put too many on it because the blue one which is the adhesive have ruptured already when I was trying to squeeze the cap covering it. It was stuck and hardened already. The hardener which is the yellow tube, I was able to squeeze open the cap off it but I had to use all of...

Amazing Shoe Rack That Wasn't & Evaluations

Posted by joseph baladad on Saturday, May 5, 2012, In : personal
It was supposed to be an amazing shoe rack but this afternoon, it was not amazing already. I bought this portable shoe rack last January from a group-buying site and picked it up at their office in Greenhills. It was colored white, made of light materials, hard plastic and tin metal tubes which were easy to assemble. It was a 10-layer rack but a part of the lower sides literally broke down into two. Even the ends of three connectors got stuck on the insertion part of the side layer. Now what ...

Planning On a Rainy Day

Posted by joseph baladad on Friday, May 4, 2012, In : personal
It has started raining again and it seems the rainy season is here again. The summer heat we have felt last month will be over by now, at least, here in our country which is the so-called "Pearl of the Orient Seas".

While it was raining, I am already planning for applying for leaves to be able to celebrate some special events in my life. I want to travel to other places in the Philippines either by sea or by air and traverse to the southern part of the country. I have already eyed a two touri...

Below are the 3 software I found very useful and I always install every time I install or reinstall Windows operating system. This is in no way a promotion or marketing of the software, rather, these are personal preferences.

1.    VLC Player - software which can play almost all kind of music and video formats.

2.    Magic Disc - software which I use especially for games to have an extra virtual CD/DVD drive. I also use this to create ISO for DVDs or CDs.

3.    Free Studio Manager - an AIO or al...

Need To Sleep

Posted by joseph baladad on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, In : personal
I have just read an article in the internet that one should sleep well and long enough in order to prevent Alzheimer's disease and also improve long memories. Sleeping lessens the chances of having memory gaps and this maybe one of the reasons why I am having difficulties whenever I ponder or think about something. There are some things I tend to forget on where I have put or left it and some places I forgot when I have visited. Fortunately, I can remember a person's face very well but unfort...

Massage and Avengers on Labor Day

Posted by joseph baladad on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, In : personal
It was our 1st massage session for this year. We used the Metrodeal voucher I have bought last year and Love paid only 200 pesos as tip for the masseuses in Asian Clinic. The massage was good and very relaxing especially on the head part. I chose a hard type of massage when I was asked by the masseuse so that I will really feel the massage and it will relieve my body stress. We were actually late because we have forgotten the time of our session at 10am which was written on their whiteboard. ...
