Training Hard and Melted Magnums

Posted by joseph baladad on Monday, April 30, 2012, In : personal
It seems that I really need to train hard if I want to join the Milo marathon eliminations and the 1st Ku Ikaika (Polynesian phrase which means "Stand Strong") marathon in La Union. These are the two marathons that I intended to join for this year. The target time for the 21-K provincial elimination races in Milo is 1 hour and 30 minutes for male participants for an age group of 18-34 which is my age group. If it is within 1:15:00, all expense paid trip to Manila will be given to any male par...

Upset Stomach

Posted by joseph baladad on Sunday, April 29, 2012, In : personal
I woke up early and went directly to the toilet because of dire need to relieve myself. It was almost 4:30 in the morning. After relieving myself, I went back to sleep and at 7:00 in the morning, I woke up again and went straight to the bathroom again. My stomach still hurts and I have been excreting mostly liquids. At almost 12:00, I was still feeling the pain in my stomach so I had another session in the comfort room. That was three in a row already which may have been caused by the stress,...

Quick Interview

Posted by joseph baladad on Saturday, April 28, 2012, In : personal
I woke up early but got out of bed with enough time to hurry. I thought I was going to be late in my interview today and it is a good thing that it was just near. I even had to walk just to be able to find the place which was wrongly marked on the online street map. I came there just in time with another applicant waiting probably for another job position.

After a few minutes of waiting, the first applicant was called and went out to inform me that my turn to be interviewed. It was a very qui...

Training Ended With the Usual Adjustments

Posted by joseph baladad on Friday, April 27, 2012, In : personal
Just like the previous batches I have co-handled, the final evaluation and grades of the 14th batch of trainees have been adjusted so that most of them attained the passing grade of 80%. Most of their grades went down because of very slow typing skills not even commensurate to an average typist's speed. I was there when the grades were manipulated because it is my Love who were tasked to be the (un)official training coordinator. There was a pressure to retake the full cycle timing of data cap...

Still Busy at Night

Posted by joseph baladad on Thursday, April 26, 2012, In : personal
It’s the birthday of my eldest brother today, Jerome. He is already in his 40s and still a survivor in New York.

--------

I am still busy and it’s 1030 in the evening already, still busy pondering and web searching. I am still searching for jobs to apply at. I have already sent copies of my resume to several companies. While browsing, I saw the company’s advertisement regarding a supervisory/team leader vacancy for deployment in Mindanao. Hmm. I guess it is really time for me to leave now...

Decision Time

Posted by joseph baladad on Wednesday, April 25, 2012, In : personal
Most of the trainees are really slow when it comes to typing which then greatly affect the modular and full cycle timing we conducted today. It was a decision time again if we need to adjust the scoring system for this batch. Same with the previous batches wherein we also had to go overtime and came home very late just to make sure all trainees pass and only one or two will be eliminated during the final evaluation. My Love did adjusted already the scoring of the modular and full cycling timi...

Stress Out, Walk

Posted by joseph baladad on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, In : personal

As part of being a team leader, I have the responsibility of training would-be operators in a nationwide government project. This time, I had to return to the project office and co-handle the 14th batch of trainees for regional and metro-based operators.

We went early so that we can start early. Fourteen trainees were scheduled starting today but only eleven attended. This is a good thing, at least, they know what they are doing and they have been thinking already.

The usual things but with a ...

A Review of My Cherry Mobile D12

Posted by joseph baladad on Monday, April 23, 2012, In : personal
I use this cellphone primarily for business purposes having inserted the 2 sim cards from the two company-issued cellphones. Those 2 cellphones are Samsung Corby 2 and Nokia C2-01 both of which I am not using anymore since I do not want to bring so many cellphones.

As I have mentioned, 2 sim cards, which means this is a dual-sim cellphone. Just the basic features can be found in this cellphone which I bought for texting use only. It also has an MP3 player which I rarely use. It features also a...

How to Go to Boracay via 2GO (Travel to Boracay by Sea)

Posted by joseph baladad on Sunday, April 22, 2012, In : Instructionals
My first time to go to this summer island getaway was really not highly-planned due to budget constraints. For missing Love, I have to do something regardless of tight budget, so I travelled alone and went on an adventure to Boracay and also to run in Skyathon 2012. (Details to be posted soon.)

Going to Boracay by sea and if you are the adventurous type of traveler who can wait patiently for long hours, I can recommend this way.

To Boracay by sea:

   -    Go to Batangas port via bus either at J...

How to Go to NAIA 3 (On a Budget)

Posted by joseph baladad on Monday, April 16, 2012, In : Instructionals
I accompanied my Love today to NAIA 3. They have a scheduled mobile capture in Boracay for Boracay Regency and Casa Pilar from April 17 until April 20, 2012. Her flight was on a Cebu Pacific flight and it seems relevant and timely for me to post on how to go to NAIA 3 on a budget.

Below are the directions on how to go to NAIA 3 terminal.
  1. The starting point is LRT Roosevelt station (AKA LRT Muñoz station)
  2. Pay 20 pesos (as of April 16, 2012) until LRT EDSA station (AKA Pasay Rotonda station)
  3. Afte...

How to apply for an SSS UMID card (How to apply for an SSS ID)

Posted by joseph baladad on Sunday, April 15, 2012, In : Instructionals
This article is written by a team leader of 12 data capture operators from different SSS branches.

It's year 2012 already and approaching start of the second quarter of the year. I am writing this article to help those who are still pondering on how to apply for an SSS ID or SSS UMID which was introduced last year.

SSS UMID card is the replacement for the old SSS ID card. This refers to the blue digitized card. UMID stands for Unified Multi-Purpose ID (not universal, which most people say when...

Profile Updates

Posted by joseph baladad on Saturday, April 14, 2012,
I accompanied Love this morning for her personal activity and we went to SM North and paid some bills. Sun broadband for me and Smart and Globe plans for her and we also inquired if the Unisilver watch was delivered already in their SM branch. It was my advance birthday gift for her which was not supposed to be known by her. Due to Dealspot's system of sending voucher gifts to others, it was already not a surprise gift but turned out to be advance gift. Unfortunately, it was not available whe...

Been Thinking on a Friday the 13th

Posted by joseph baladad on Friday, April 13, 2012, In : personal
As I was browsing for jobs online, I had a feeling of regression on my part because I am not a college graduate. It is only here in this country that a college degree is very important despite the person’s having the right skill for the job or even a multi-talented and multi-skilled person. Without any college degree or a college diploma to present, chances are very low for getting hired. It is very rare that an interviewer will pass an applicant who has many experiences to be proud of and ...

Simple Budget Dinner Date

Posted by joseph baladad on Thursday, April 12, 2012, In : dinner
It was a tiring day today probably because of having been frustrated from a helpdesk that was not really been a good help already. Poor decision-making of a helpdesk which led to unnecessary broken schedule and I have no choice but email a report regarding the issue. Details, again, I really do not want to disclose to protect the privacy of the parties concerned including mine.

I do not want to lose my temper but with the sudden poor decisions, it was really frustrating. A final decision but w...

I was tasked by our Ops head to make a report regarding a Facebook issue. I will not go into details regarding the said issue but it makes me wonder why me. She was calling me this morning but constantly been cut when I tried to answer or call her back. It was my Love who informed me about it, so, off I go and I was able to do and finished it within the day. I just did some simple backtracking to find out who did what. I also included a little background history of the item. It was just a sim...

A Reprimand

Posted by joseph baladad on Tuesday, April 10, 2012,
It’s the birthday of my sister today.

Love and I watched two downloaded movies today, “ATM” and “444 Last Day on Earth”. While watching the latter, I had to finish writing a reply to one of my DCOs who happened to be insurbordinating me already based on her email. Her first email was a direct blame on me regarding her unpaid one-day wage which was not really my fault. I only emailed their DTRs and the computation of their salary is not in my hands. It was already a direct insubordina...

Unscheduled Dental Visit

Posted by joseph baladad on Monday, April 9, 2012,
It's a holiday today, "Araw ng Kagitingan", the last day of a 5-day vacation period for employees which is very long already.

We went to Waltermart and had an unscheduled visit to the dentist for my Love's tooth problem. She's feeling some pains already and there were also some tiny pieces of her tooth. She had her tooth X-rayed and her molar tooth will be pulled. After awhile, which I never thought would take up one and a half hour; it was a root canal treatment or procedure that happened alr...

Easter Celebration

Posted by joseph baladad on Sunday, April 8, 2012,
We had spaghetti, brewed coffee and pineapple juice for our foods. We still managed to cook spaghetti despite the fact that the MGAS tank ran out of gas already while Love was cooking. I used the old Standard rice cooker which is a vintage rice cooker already because it was a family possession already when I was not still born.

We watched three downloaded movies before going to mass. The titles were “One for The Money”, “One Day”, and “Everything Must Go” and then we attended mass....

2nd Afternoon Run in Quezon City

Posted by joseph baladad on Saturday, April 7, 2012,
We had another run this afternoon after doing the laundry and watching a downloaded movie, “And Justice For All”, which is an old 1979 movie starring Al Pacino. This time, we ran the Quezon City Circle outside perimeter. It was just a few rounds since my Love was having a hard time already. Anyway, what was good about this run was the refresher that we had. It was the favorite of Love which is buco juice. We had two rounds of buco juice as we refreshed ourselves. It’s worth 15 pesos for...

Downloaded Movies & an Afternoon Run on Good Friday

Posted by joseph baladad on Friday, April 6, 2012,
It’s the birthday of my brother today. Happy birthday to you, Brother Jeff.

Anyway, Love and I spent the day watching downloaded movies. It was a comedy-action and an action movie, 21 Jump Street and Haywire. After watching, we had an afternoon run in UP oval grounds. There were no traffics since it was a holiday and most people are in the provinces. After our run, our first afternoon run here in Quezon City, we had chocolate sundae (for Love), Milo blast sundae (for me) and large fries whil...

Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro Build number 4.0.2.A.0.62 Rooted

Posted by joseph baladad on Thursday, April 5, 2012, In : Instructionals
I successfully rooted my xperia minipro which I bought last March 21, 2012 in SM North EDSA. In doing so, the warranty is void already because I had to unlock the bootloader. Sony needs to confirm if the owner really wants to unlock the bootloader so that when the brick his unit, Sony will not be liable for it or for any damages that will happen in case a failure of unlocking the bootloader happened or when rooting the unit fails.

I had to experiment and tried some links which, unfortunately, ...

Hustle Hassle on a Holy Wednesday Morning

Posted by joseph baladad on Wednesday, April 4, 2012,
I arrived before 8 am today in LRT Roosevelt station (AKA Muñoz station) and then the lady guard informed me that there was no operations for today. LRT was closed and that it’s only open for the route of Blumentritt to Baclaran. It was really a hassle not only to me but to other daily commuters. It was UNANNOUNCED and I called my Love if it was really closed schedule for today, Holy Wednesday, and she informed me that it is open and the schedule is until 8PM for LRT 1 and LRT 2.

I hustled...

Upgraded Black Berry 8520 to OS 5 without Data Plan (Manual Method)

Posted by joseph baladad on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, In : Instructionals

I successfully updated one of my DCO's BB Curve 8520 from version 4.6.1.174 to version 5.0.0.681. It took me 3 software downloads with the last one being successful and several Google links. It's a good thing the internet connection managed to achieved a 60+ kbps and I thought would take until 5pm to download a 116mb file.

After following the tip of deleting the vendor file, in which case, I just renamed it to vendor2. Then restarting the laptop to refresh the system and then plugging the pow...

Post-April Fools' Day 2012

Posted by joseph baladad on Monday, April 2, 2012,

* My Love already informed me about her out-of-town schedules. I just have to understand. I replied through text. We're waiting for confirmation again.

* It's Taco Salad once again. It's our first for this year.

After a day's work, we did some grocery and my Love decided to make a Taco salad, which was really great. It's another healthy food for both of us. It's a home-made taco salad made of lettuce, beef, onions, tomatoes, cheese, Best Food Mayo Magic and Mr. Chips as replacement for Tacos. I...

Fools' Day on a Palm Sunday

Posted by joseph baladad on Sunday, April 1, 2012,

I replaced the black-and-white curtains for a change. New feeling of happiness brought about by the yellow-toned curtains. Yellow is a color associated with gleefulness aside from the fact that it’s the only curtain in the house.
I may be foolish not to accept what you wanted but I think it is for the right reason. You always look for reasons for everything yet my love for you deserves no reason. It's a love that cannot be answered even with the right questions. This love is not unquesti...
